Annex 3 Risk assessment matrix

The RIU programme is different from most donor-funded research programmes in that it consists of a broadly-based portfolio of 30 or so research into use experiments which are situated in 10 or more countries and focused on a range of different topics and issues. Whilst some activities will inevitably be more productive than others, all are likely to achieve impact and in doing so generate useful lessons in putting research into use. Internal or external risks that affect any one component are unlikely to jeopardise the programme's purpose. For these reasons the RIU programme is considered to be overall low risk.

Ian Maudlin, RIU Director, introduces Research Into Use, explains its aims and outlines the impacts the programme hopes to achieve. November 2009 (3:55)   RIUtv
