Keith Sones

Keith was born and brought up in rural Oxfordshire, in the centre of England, but has been based in Nairobi, Kenya, since 1982.
For 11 years Keith worked for the world's largest veterinary pharmaceutical company, initially on their research farm in England, and then for eight years based in East Africa. In East Africa he was responsible for technical support of the company's trypanocidal drugs. Since 1991 he has operated as a freelance consultant based in Nairobi, first working as a partner in StockWatch Ltd and more recently through his own company, Keith Sones Associates. He works for a wide range of clients, mostly in the public sector, but also retains some private sector clients. He offers a range of services including writing and editing; designing, organizing, running and reporting on workshops and other events; strategic planning; proposal development; and broader communication activities. In the past his work has mostly been in the livestock and animal health sectors, but he now works increasinglyin the agriculture and development sectors.
RIU has contracted Keith Sones Associates to coordinate and deliver communication activities, especially the website, media coverage and events.
Education
Keith has a BSc from Reading University, UK, on physiology and biochemistry of farm animals and a PhD from Glasgow University Veterinary School on chemotherapy of trypanosomiasis.
