Biography
Dr Andy Hall
Head of the Central Research Team
Andy is a science technology policy analyst with a PhD from The Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex, UK. His area of expertise is agricultural innovation and he has undertaken extensive research on innovation processes and policies in both Asia and Sub Saharan Africa.
He is currently employed as a senior researcher at UNU-MERIT where he coordinates the Learning Innovation and Knowledge (LINK) initiative on rural innovation from his base in Maastricht in the Netherlands. Andy's research at UNU-MERIT focuses on understanding the nature and policy implications of emerging patterns of agricultural and rural innovation capacity. He has undertaken a range of advisory assignments with the Department for International Development, UK; The Forum for Agricultural research in Africa; UNCTAD, FAO, and the CGIAR.
He recently authored the World Bank's book:
Enhancing Agricultural Innovation: How to go Beyond Strengthening Agricultural Research.
