Biography
Utiang P Ugbe

Utiange will be working with the Africa Country Programmes in Nigeria and Sierra Leone. He will be publishing papers on legumes storage, building the agriculture sector capacity through innovation and a case study of PAID.

Utiang has expertise in: development finance; ecosystem economics; business development services for SMEs; revitalization of blighted inner cities; economic rehabilitation of refugees; rural water supply and sanitation; agricultural research for development; local economic development.

Before joining RIU, Utiang was a researcher in ecosystem economics at the United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS), in Yokohama, Japan. He previously served in various professional positions in Nigeria with international development programmes, including CUSO (a Canadian NGO), PolioPlus (Rotary-funded), TechnoServe (an American NGO), the Ford Foundation, and as consultant with various organizations on programmes within Africa and in the United States.
