Frank M Kayula

Frank has twenty two years experience in agriculture and rural development and environment management.
Before joining RIU, Frank worked as Regional Manager for PANOS Institute Southern Africa's Natural Resource Management Programme. He has also worked for Government as crop husbandry officer and latterly as chief agricultural supervisor with the core role of promoting crop production and productivity among farmers. In 2002 Frank worked for the Ministry of Local Government as district planning officer and latter joined the Agricultural Support Programme (ASP) as district coordinator before joining PANOS. At ASP, Frank was instrumental in inducting all new employees of ASP in facilitating agribusiness for rural development.
Education
He completed his double major of Masters in Development studies (Rural Agrarian Development and Entrepreneurship & Business Development). Frank has an agricultural background, having graduated from a national agricultural college with a diploma in crop science and latter did his first degree in Development studies with a bias in rural agrarian development. Frank holds several certificates in crosscutting issues such as environment, human rights, governance, HIV/AIDS and gender in development. He is also well trained and experienced in livelihoods development processes and participatory methodologies.
Frank has done research studies in public and community environment management and related policy issues. He has also been major contributor to many studies on livelihood enhancing rural programmes.
