RIU invited to attend DFID climate change and livelihoods event

Two members of the RIU team, Deputy Director Andy Frost and Duncan Sones of the communications team, were recently invited to attend DFID's annual retreat for staff and key partners.

This year the event was focused on climate change, gender and livelihoods and took place in DFID's East Kilbride, Scotland office.

Duncan Sones said:

"This was a great opportunity for us to network with DFID staff members and partners and to share the learning from the RIU experiment. It was encouraging to see how many of our programmes were addressing key bottleneck and problems that were identified at the meeting."

The RIU communications team produced a briefing for the event which shows how two RIU-supported initiatives, ShujaazFM and FIPS-Africa, are delivering on gender, enterprise and climate change issues.
