Preview of the RIU-sponsored 3rd International Conference on Neglected Zoonotic Diseases
23 November 2010

RIUtv's Nik Wood has travelled to Geneva to cover the RIU-sponsored conference on Neglected Zoonatic Diseases at the World Health Organisation headquarters.

The teams from SOS-Nigeria and SOS-Uganda arrived a day early so they could start to compare notes ahead of the conference.

In Nik's filmed report, Ayodele Majekodunmi, coordinator of SOS-Nigeria, talks about the planning for the programme on the Jos Plateau and the preliminary work including censuses and consultations about the how the team should delivery the programme.

Economist Alexander Shaw explains why the SOS approach makes sense in economic terms and she makes a plea to donors and the medical profession to review their priorities. Finally, Paul Gibbs of the University of Florida set outs what is meant by 'One World One Health'.

The conference runs from 23-25 November 2010.
