Gro-Plus 'a-maizes' Kenyan farmer
7 February 2011

This picture shows two cobs of maize, both planted in Kenya in November 2010. The one at the front was planted conventionally. The bigger one to the rear had the benefit of the seed being treated prior to sowing with the Real IPM Company's new product Gro-Plus.

Whilst this falls a long way short of a scientific trial - it does show great potential for the product and is helping to excite interest in the major trial of Gro-Plus which is taking place in the coming growing season and will involve some 40,000 maize growers.

Farmers from Westen Kenya talk about the impact of Striga on their livelihoods. Colins Wanyama and Henry Wainwright of The Real IMP Company explain how the RIU Best Bet will work. February 2010 (5:41)   RIUtv
