New approach to sleeping sickness - SOS Uganda

Researchers from Uganda and the UK have shown the critical role that cattle play in the spread by blood-sucking tsetse fly of the deadly disease, sleeping sickness - more than 60 million people in Africa are at risk.
This has led to an entirely new way of controlling sleeping sickness – with the emphasis on prevention rather than cure. This project is supported by the RIU Best Bets programme.
